Course Objectives
There are more specific objectives listed individually in each lesson, but the ultimate goal is that, by the end of the course, you will know and use these facts, concepts, principles, theories, and models to gain a better grasp on the following and be able to:
1. display a good understanding of the tools that geographers use to understand the world.
2. recognize and explain how the changes within the earth and on the earth’s surface affect human populations.
3. use maps, graphs, and other visual representations of geographical data effectively.
4. explain the geographic causes and consequences of some of the differences that exist between cultures.
5. visualize interrelationships between the continents and oceans of the world.
6. explain how different cultures have adapted to, or made use of, their environments.
7. identify the problems facing a variety of cultures and suggest possible solutions.
8. develop an appreciation for the interdependence of all the countries of the world.
